How to get to Vršac

 



Vršac, one of the oldest towns of Banat, is situated on the south-east edge of the Panonian plain, at the foot of the Vršac mountains. It lies north-east of Belgrade, 83km distant from it, on the international highway to Rumania, which is 14km furher.Vršac is characterized by good connections with the surrounding places, and towns in this part of Vojvodina, with bothhighway and rairoad traffic. The railway border crossing to Rumania is in Vršac itself, and the highway border crossing is near Vatin.


Vršac has a very good geo-strategic position. It lies on the international highway Belgrade – Timisoara. The highway border crossing Vatin is only a few kilometers far from the town, and the railway border crossing is in the town itself, at the railway station. The international railway Vienna – Budapest – Belgrade – Bucarest passes through Vršac

- Main roads 24%
- Regional roads 6.3%
- Local roads 69%

The road network on the territory of Vršac is made up of 61 km of the main roads, 18km of the regional roads and 89km of the local roads. About 100km are the town roads. Generally speaking, the state of the total road network can be evaluated as satisfactory.

The municipality of Vršac has provided from the budget for this year, a significant amount of money for the construction of the new roads and the reconstruction of the already existing roads, and the improvement of the state of the road network in the Municipality in general. The construction of the new entry roads to Vršac, good road links with the Technological park and other industrial zones in the Municipality, and the securing of the accompanying infrastructure, are the factors which will attract home and foreign partners.
